Steering

Committee

The Steering Committee is a group of individuals from a cross section of the community. They work in nonprofit organizations, healthcare, large and small businesses, and municipal agencies in Harvey. This committee guides the Network’s strategies, fiscal responsibility and personnel.

Each of the following organizations has one person serving on the Steering Committee. They meet monthly, and each organization has one vote on committee decisions.

Organizations

Partner organizations may serve on subcommittees and may join the General Membership. Those serving on a subcommittee help to envision, plan, and implement the Network's activities.

If your organization is working in Harvey in one of our Impact Areas, please contact us to see about having your representative serve on a subcommittee.

Steering Committee; If you or your organization wishes to stay informed, invited, or involved at any level, please contact us to see about becoming a General Member. Both organizations and individuals may join as General Members.

Subcommittees

Those working or living in Harvey serve on subcommittees in each of the 3 Impact Areas:

  • Holistic Health and Wellness

  • Economic Mobility and Workforce Development

  • Violence Prevention and Intervention

In 2024, the Steering Committee established an additional subcommittee. It exists to establish the Cook County Resilience Hub in Harvey, but this funding has stopped. This group was collaborating with the Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability to start up and operate the hub. It was a site in Harvey that provided safety, services, and shelter in the event of a large-scale crisis or disaster. Even when there is no crisis, the goal was to provide resources.

Resident Advisory Boards

The Resident Advisory Board (RAB) meets monthly on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 6pm-7:30pm at Restoration Ministries. These Harvey residents advise on, and participate in, Network activities. They keep Network-community connections active in order to promote the goals of Harvey residents.
